RELEASE: Young Kim Votes Against Bipartisan Jan 6 Commission

Despite Hollow Preachings of BiPartisanship, Kim Continues To Say One Thing And Vote The Other Way

HACIENDA HEIGHTS, CA – Today, Representative Young Kim voted against the bipartisan bill to establish a commission to investigate the January 6 Capitol terrorist attack. Lt. Commander Jay Chen, candidate for Congress in California’s 39th Congressional District, released the following statement condemning her vote:

“Today thirty-five Republicans voted for a bipartisan bill to investigate the Jan 6 terrorist attack on our Capitol. Young Kim refused to support the bill, and once again sided with the most extreme wing of her party despite constantly preaching bipartisanship,” said Lt. Commander Jay Chen. “I was deployed in the Middle East last year when the U.S. Embassy in Iraq was violently attacked. Our country took swift and immediate action to hold the perpetrators accountable. Resident’s of our district are demanding answers as to why Kim failed to support this bipartisan commission, but Kim refuses to meet with her constituents and hold a town hall.”

Chen continued, “Kim brags about being part of the Problem Solvers Caucus, which vocally endorsed this January 6 Commission, yet she went against her own caucus to oppose this common-sense bill.  There’s nothing moderate or bipartisan about Young Kim and this terrible vote proves it.”

Since entering office earlier this year, Representative Young Kim has voted against major bipartisan legislation including:

  • The Impeachment of Donald John Trump, President of the United States, for high crimes and misdemeanors
  • National Apprenticeship Act of 2021
  • The Equality Act
  • George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2021
  • Protecting the Right to Organize Act of 2021
  • Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2021
  • Enhanced Background Checks Act of 2021
  • Removing the deadline for the ratification of the equal rights amendment
  • American Dream and Promise Act of 2021
  • Farm Workforce Modernization Act of 2021
  • Paycheck Fairness Act
  • NO BAN Act
  • Comprehensive Debt Collection Improvement Act

Young Kim has long contributed to the narrative of voter fraud and stolen elections:
