FULLERTON, CA – Yesterday the DCCC announced the competitive districts they will work to flip in 2022 in an effort to protect Democrats’ House majority. Included on the DCCC “District In Play” list is California’s newly formed 45th Congressional District.

CA45 is an AAPI opportunity seat with a 5% Democratic registration advantage. The district voted for Biden by 6.2%, Clinton by 13.2% and against the recall of Governor Newsom by 7%. The district is 37% Asian American with significant Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, Filipino, and South Asian populations. This district is primed to support a strong Democratic challenger like Jay Chen, a Navy Veteran, Community College Trustee, and child of Taiwanese immigrants.

Running strong since January of 2021 – Jay Chen has accumulated $1 million cash on hand, an impressive list of federal, state, and local endorsements, and has been named to several watchlists.
