GARDEN GROVE, CA – In response to the Supreme Court Decision to dismantle 50 years of precedent and overturn Roe v. Wade, Lt. Commander (res.) released the following statement:
“Today’s devastating decision strips women of rights they’ve had for half a century, and sets the stage for further attacks on Americans’ rights. I am in shock and dismay knowing that women will die and women will go to jail as a result of the Supreme Court’s decision. In Congress, I will fight everyday to make this right. Your rights are non-negotiable in my book.”
Jay Chen is running for Congress in California’s 45th Congressional District against anti-choice extremist Michelle Steel. Congresswoman Steel supports making abortion and birth control illegal and refused to tell voters whether she believes there should even be exceptions for rape. Steel was among the cohort that signed a letter asking the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade. She will join with those in her party trying to pass a national law making abortion illegal in all circumstances, including if the pregnancy risks the woman’s life.
