GARDEN GROVE, CA – While votes continue to be tabulated in both Orange and Los Angeles County, Lt. Commander Jay Chen issued the following statement regarding California’s 45th Congressional District’s vote tabulation.
With the Registrar of Voters for Orange and Los Angeles Counties still counting votes, and at least tens of thousands of ballots still outstanding, the race has not been officially called. In the past two election cycles, races in the footprint of this new district were called 11 and 7 days after polls closed.
“While we await the results, I want to take this opportunity to thank all of our supporters for joining us in this fight to bring real representation to California’s 45th Congressional District,” said Lt. Commander Jay Chen (res.). “It is essential that every vote is counted, because every voice in the 45th District matters. Our campaign trusts the work of the Registrars and looks forward to ensuring that every legal vote is counted.”
