GARDEN GROVE, CA – Today, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act, which will lower health care and energy bill costs as well as close tax loopholes exploited by the wealthy. After Big Pharma instructed their bought representatives to vote against the Inflation Reduction Act, which among other key inflation reduction provisions, would lower the cost of prescription drugs by allowing Medicare to negotiate with drug makers to lower prices, Special Interest Steel gave voters yet another proof point as she sided with her donors over the working families she claims to represent.
“Unsurprisingly, Steel has tossed working families aside to play DC politics by siding with special interests and extreme Republicans,” said Lt. Commander Jay Chen. “California’s 45th deserves representation that will put its constituents front and center. While the IRA is a historic accomplishment, we need to do even more to help our small businesses, create good-paying jobs, and lower healthcare costs in our district. That’s exactly what I’ll fight for when elected to Congress.”
Background on Special Interest Steel:
Siding with Big Pharma: when Rep. Michelle Steel had the chance to cap the cost of insulin at $35, Steel voted NO.
Siding with the Gun Lobby: when Rep. Michelle Steel had the chance to make history in supporting the bipartisan gun safety bill, Steel voted NO.
Siding with Big Oil and Gas: when Rep. Michelle Steel had the chance to help working families by stopping price gouging on gas, Steel voted NO.
